Statewide WWE Project

Walk with Ease in Iowa is funded through a Cooperative Agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a state level initiative designed to build and support the availability of Arthritis Appropriate Evidence-Based Interventions (AAEBIs) in Iowa. Our team has prioritized the delivery of Walk with Ease since it has a robust evidence-base and can be delivered in a variety of formats including Group, Self-Directed (online) and Hybrid options.

Project Management and Coordination

The project is managed by an interdisciplinary research team affiliated with the ISU Translational Research Network (See Link). Programming is coordinated through the Partnerships in Prevention Sciences Institute which specializes in the dissemination of evidence-based interventions (See Link).

Iowa State University County Extension and Outreach
The ISU County Extension and Outreach Network works to support the ISU land-grant mission by engaging all Iowans in research, education and extension experiences to address current and emerging real-lift challenges.
With offices in all 99 counties in the state, Extension and Outreach serves as a bridge between researchers in the university, and individuals across the state who can benefit from their opportunities.

For more information on ISU Extension and Outreach and the events and educational opportunities available, visit their website at extension.iastate.edu
Healthy Iowans - Physical Activity Workgroup
The WWE programming is linked to state level physical activity goals established by Healthy Iowans through the Active Living Workgroup. An advantage of WWE and our state level project is that we are able to provide FREE access to the Self-Directed program to any Iowa adult (Visit link on the website). We are also able to provide FREE organizational training and support to organizations interested in delivering WWE (Visit link on the website)
