Interested in Learning How to Deliver Walk with Ease?

Walk with Ease Leader Training

Walk with Ease is a CDC-recommended lifestyle program created by the Arthritis Foundation for the self-management of arthritis pain and symptoms. It may also be beneficial for the prevention and management of other chronic diseases due to its emphasis on physical activity through walking. The program is available in both self-directed and group formats. Our team has developed and evaluated a number of programmatic enhancements to support program delivery and effectiveness.

How Does it Work?
Programming and training are coordinated through a centralized support process that prepares leaders to deliver Walk with Ease with fidelity. This approach allows us to build capacity statewide by equipping organizations with the training, tools, and guidance needed to implement and sustain evidence-based programming in their communities.
As part of our shared commitment to promote the adoption (and delivery) of evidence-based programming across the state, we will be evaluating our training model. Individuals and organizations that want to engage, will be asked to complete baseline evaluations and periodic surveys to evaluate programming.
What is Provided?

Support for organizations interested in delivering Walk with Ease includes free access to the Arthritis Foundation’s online Walk with Ease leader training course, which prepares leaders to deliver the program with fidelity. Organizations also receive free access to a customized online portal designed to support program delivery, participant engagement, and data collection.
Additional support includes implementation guidance, program materials, and ongoing technical assistance to help organizations successfully offer Walk with Ease in their communities and sustain evidence-based programming over time.
